Walking the harbour in Kirkcudbright, an artists enclave in Scotland, Morag Macpherson charts the changing seasons with her camera. No mere hobby, this is the spark that ignite pattern play found with Morag Macpherson Textiles. She based the Galloway collection on winter images of a barren tree that she describes as ‘clearly dead but on its way to completing the cycle for spring rejuvenation’. After extracting details from the shots, she sketched motifs. The scanned drawings were then duplicated and coloured to create fve patterns digitally printed on linen-cotton 55 inches wide-appropriate for window treatments, upholstery and throw pillows. Macpherson also welcomes custom commissions.
